Medical treatment of the acne totally depends upon the type of acne you are having

Mild to severe acne.
Severe acne needs to be treated with high dose of medicine or by other technique for example therapy.Cyst and nodules which are considered as deep blemishes can leave a scar. So, in that case, your doctor will prescribe oral antibiotics for the treatment. As we described above antibiotics are available both in topical and oral form.

- White and black head.
- It may cause mild to moderate irritation.
- The treatment becomes less effective if the topical antibiotic used alone because it increases the risk that the germs will become immune to that specific antibiotic.
Retinoids is a drug that is derived from vitamin A and includes adapalene (Differin), tretinoin (Retin A, Avita). It is available both in cream or gel form.Doctors prescribed to apply this medication in evening mostly three times a day in starting then apply daily because your skin becomes to use it.It prevents plugging of hair follicles.

Co-cyprindol is useful in patients when the reason of worse acne is considered to be the sensitivity to the androgen hormones.
If oral antibiotics fail to treat acne spironolactone (Aldactone) is given especially to women and adolescent girls. The effect of androgen hormones on sebaceous gland is blocked by spironolactone.
- Painful periods.
- Potassium retention.
